Summary:
Daisy Coleman, once a child star, now reigns as the hottest singer of the moment. Yet despite her success, she remains unfulfilled, wanting only one thing: Thomas Kalberg, her brother’s best friend, who seems to be the only man incapable of returning her love. Despite having always ignored Daisy’s advances in the past, Thomas returns after a four-year absence, now tasked with looking after her as her bodyguard. His main objective: to ensure her safety at all costs. But as he tries to maintain his distance, he realizes that Daisy has become a woman, determined to prove her affection for him. Despite the obstacles, Daisy is determined to break down Thomas’s barriers, vowing that he will eventually succumb to her love, sociopath or not.
My opinion:
Honestly, I was very disappointed with this book…
I had liked Ace of Hearts so much that I had high expectations of Thomas’s story.
I found the story flat. The little girl in love with her brother’s best friend, who pays no attention to her. It’s déjà vu…
Apart from the little plot about Daisy’s stalker and the twist when we learn who this mystery stalker is, I didn’t find the story very interesting.
Thomas is a very closed-minded person, as we know from L’as de cœur, but the fact that he considers himself a sociopath, I find, closes us off from the story.
In summary:
I think stopping at volume 1 would have been more than enough!
NOTE: 3/10
